Privacy policy

What we store

The only data Domain Vault keeps is the list of domains you add, the public registry details fetched for them (such as expiration date, registrar, creation date, and name servers), and your notification preferences. All of it is stored locally on your device, in your browser's extension storage or the app's local storage.

What we don't do

• We don't collect analytics or usage statistics.
• We don't set cookies or track you across the web.
• We don't sell, share, or transmit your data to any advertising partners.
• We don't require an account, and there's nothing to sign up for.

Domain lookups

When you add a domain (or refresh it), Domain Vault contacts the domain's registry service to look up its public expiration details. That request includes the domain name, and the registry service may see the network address your device connects from — the same as any other visit to a website. We don't store the results of those lookups anywhere other than on your device.

Notifications

Expiry reminders are delivered as local notifications generated by Domain Vault on your device. We don't send notifications through our own servers.

Distribution

The browser extension is distributed through browser add-on stores and the app as a downloadable build. Those stores may collect their own standard download and update telemetry, subject to their respective privacy policies — we don't receive or store that information.

If this policy changes in a way that affects your data, we'll update this page and bump the date shown above.
